Work somewhere that knows your name
We're a small brokerage and we mean to stay one. When we hire, it's because we've found someone who will make the place better. Right now we're looking for two or three agents and an office coordinator.
What it's like here
Every Tuesday at 9 the whole team meets in Beacon (Kingston dials in, or drives over when there's something worth arguing about in person). We go through every active listing and every buyer close to an offer. New agents shadow an experienced agent for their first three months, go on every listing appointment they can, and get Nadia's walk-through, a three-hour tour of an old house from the cellar to the attic that most of us still remember.
We share leads honestly. Calls and emails that come into the office are assigned in rotation, weighted toward agents who know the town and kind of property, and every agent sees the rotation. Nobody gets a lead because they're the broker's favorite.
We expect a lot. We expect you to read the inspection report before your client does, to call back the same day, to describe properties honestly and never to tell a buyer who a house is "perfect for." We'll help you do all of that.
Licensed agents (Beacon and Kingston)
We're looking for agents who already hold, or are about to earn, a New York real estate salesperson license. Experience is welcome but not required; some of our best agents came to us from teaching, hotels, surveying and architecture. What matters is that you're curious, careful and good with people under stress.
What you'd do
- Work with buyers and sellers across the mid-Hudson Valley, with support from a mentor agent in your first year.
- Hold open houses (most Sundays in spring and fall), write honest listing descriptions, and run showings.
- Learn our process for buyer agreements, agency disclosure, and the New York contract-and-attorney system until you can explain it to a nervous first-time buyer in five minutes.
- Take part in the Tuesday meeting, the spring and fall first-time buyer evenings, and the March old-house repair clinic.
What we offer
- A commission split that we'll explain in full at the first interview. It's competitive with larger offices and it improves with experience. We don't charge desk fees.
- Professional photography, floor plans and print materials for every listing, paid by the brokerage.
- Licensing course reimbursement for new agents after their first closed transaction, and paid continuing-education courses every license cycle.
- A real desk in a real storefront, and colleagues who will drive out to a farm with you on a Saturday.
Real estate agents at Fieldstone & Finch are independent contractors, paid by commission. Your first income may take three to six months. We'll be honest with you about that, and we'll help you plan for it.
Office coordinator (Beacon, full-time)
Our office coordinator keeps the Beacon office running: the front desk, the phones, the calendar of showings and open houses, the transaction files and the deadlines between an accepted offer and a closing. You don't need a real estate license (though we'll pay for the course if you'd like one), but you do need to be extremely organized, calm on the phone, and happy to talk to anyone who walks in off Main Street.
- Schedule
- Tuesday–Saturday, 9–5 (we're closed to walk-ins on Sunday)
- Pay
- $48,000–$55,000 a year, depending on experience
- Benefits
- Health insurance with the employer paying 75% of the premium, a retirement plan with a 3% match, three weeks of paid time off plus holidays
- Start
- As soon as January 2026
You'd be good at this if
- You've worked in an office where details mattered: a law firm, a school, a hotel, a contractor's office, a medical practice.
- You're comfortable with shared calendars, spreadsheets and a transaction-management system (we'll train you on ours).
- You can tell a stressed buyer on the phone, kindly, that their attorney needs to answer that question.
