Tell us a little about what you're thinking about. It goes to the office manager, who reads every message and passes it to the right agent, usually within a few hours on a weekday.
A first meeting is a conversation, usually forty-five minutes to an hour, at one of our offices, at your house if you're selling, or on a video call if you're still in the city. There's no charge and no obligation.
New York requires us to give you two forms at our first substantive conversation: the Agency Disclosure Form, which explains the different ways a real estate agent can represent you (or not), and the Housing and Anti-Discrimination Disclosure Form, which explains your rights under fair housing law. Neither is a contract. We'll ask you to sign to acknowledge that you received them.
If you're buying and want to tour homes with us, we'll also go over our written buyer agreement before the first showing. It's short, it says what we're paid, and the amount is negotiable. If you're selling, we'll bring comparable sales and talk through pricing, preparation and our fee.
Beacon by train: from the Beacon Metro-North station, walk up the hill toward Main Street and turn left onto Ferry Lantern Street; we're on the right, past the bakery. Allow ten to twelve minutes, a little more if it's icy. The shuttle up Main Street stops a block away.
Beacon by car: from I-84, take the Beacon exit and follow signs to Main Street. Ferry Lantern Street is one block south of Main.
Kingston: from the Thruway, take the Kingston exit and follow Washington Avenue toward Uptown. Stockade Row is two blocks past the old courthouse. From Amtrak at Rhinecliff, it's a 15- to 20-minute drive across the bridge; we're happy to pick you up if you let us know your train.
